I was never the biggest fan of tie dye or shibori. I actually ended up finding this fabric at my old job and only planned to use it as a muslin to test the Pattern Scout Hana Tank for fit since I was just barely within the size range. The second that I tried it on I knew it was a keeper (and my sister did too)!

After I finished it, I threw it on to check the fit and was thrilled that it fit me perfectly! At the exact second I put it on, my sister walked in and told me that she was going to be stealing it from me so I told her I’d make her her own version.

At first, I was convinced that I wouldn’t be able to make another out of the leftover fabric I had so I bought a similar fabric to use for her. While she was away at college, I washed it (and the other fabrics I was bulk washing) and got it ready to cut. When I told her that I was using that fabric she seemed a little upset so I did my best to fit it on the leftover scraps. It took a little bit of effort but I was just able to squeak it out!

The next time Missy came home I sewed up her version so that she could take it back to school with her. It only took us about a month but we finally got our photoshoot in.

What do you think?
